Highland Spring Group secures its technical operations by upgrading to SyteLine v10 and replacing bespoke barcode solution with Factory Track, supported by JPO Solutions.

Highland Spring first implemented SyteLine in 2012, together with the Infor Bridgelogix barcode solution, running now across four main production operations and Head Office. At initial implementation and subsequently the solution has incorporated significant customisation and change from standard, especially within Bridgelogix. These customisations hampered the business from taking advantage of necessary security enhancements in technology that the underlying systems had available.
The core solution utilised aging operating system and database technology that was reaching end of support, potentially creating vulnerability to outside influence. However, in order to secure these systems with higher security versions, the ERP and barcode solutions also required upgrade to their corresponding latest releases in order to be on fully certified Infor solutions.
The project would therefore necessitate upgrading four separate SyteLine v8 databases to the current single database structure of V10, including the re-engineering of reports, personalisations and interfaces to internal 3rd party solutions, and replacing the bespoke Bridgelogix barcode functions with Infor Factory Track, including transactions customised to specifically meet the speed of bottling processes and warehousing requirements.
With JPO concentrating on the database uplift and Factory Track developments, Highland Spring IT could focus on SyteLine re-deployment and ensuring everything was fully tested by the business users.
Highland Spring Group operate 24x7 production, so the timing of the final cutover of the Production system also needed to be precisely planned, scheduled and executed over a weekend to ensure migration completion within a fixed downtime window, although still allowing some limited production to continue.
As Tracy Holbein, Highland Spring Group IT Manager, explains “The time and effort put in by both JPO and our internal team throughout the project ensured we had full confidence in the final solution. At go-live, JPO completed the cutover migration well inside plan enabling us to return systems back to the business over 24 hours ahead of target. This in turn allowed production to restart ahead of schedule, enabled shipping and invoicing on day one, and with minimum minor snags post go-live.”
Tracy concludes “We could not have achieved this without JPO’s expertise and team-player attitude. Great job JPO, much appreciated.”
