Bristol based Hamilton successfully completes the upgrade of their in-house SyteLine system from v8.03 to V10, supported throughout by JPO Solutions’ technical expertise.
Hamilton is a family-owned, British electrical manufacturer that designs, develops, and manufactures innovative electrical accessories of the highest quality in the UK at their Bristol factory, and has used SyteLine v8.03 to support the business for many years.
However, with the underlying technology for SQL and Windows reaching ‘end of life’ support, a key business driver for this project was the need to uplift to a more secure and supported environment, which, by default, also meant uplifting to SyteLine version 10.
As JPO have supported Hamilton in their use of SyteLine since 2016, they were clearly best placed to assist with the uplift to version 10, with the new solution remaining in an on-premise environment.
Over the years, Hamilton had also developed many Crystal reports and functional enhancements to V8 which needed to be migrated to the new environment to maintain the key functionality needed to support the business.
As Ruth Middleton, IT Manager, explains, “We knew JPO had completed projects of this type before, so were able to guide us throughout. During 2024, JPO redeveloped the enhancements, re-wrote the reports into v10 format, and fully supported our testing to ensure as smooth a migration as possible”.
Ruth continues, “To minimise disruption to day-to-day operations, the final uplift to v10 was scheduled over our Christmas break, so many thanks Jamie, Jonathan and Rob for working with our team over this period to achieve our successful switchover. We look forward to continuing to work with JPO to take full value from the V10 solution”.
