Family owned, decorative wiring accessories manufacturer switches on SyteLine V10
Bristol based Hamilton successfully completes the upgrade of their in-house SyteLine system from v8.03 to V10, supported throughout by JPO Solutions’ technical expertise.

Hamilton is a family-owned, British electrical manufacturer that designs, develops, and manufactures innovative electrical accessories of the highest quality in the UK at their Bristol factory, and has used SyteLine v8.03 to support the business for many years.
However, with the underlying technology for SQL and Windows reaching ‘end of life’ support, a key business driver for this project was the need to uplift to a more secure and supported environment, which, by default, also meant uplifting to SyteLine version 10.
As JPO have supported Hamilton in their use of SyteLine since 2016, they were clearly best placed to assist with the uplift to version 10, with the new solution remaining in an on-premise environment.
Over the years, Hamilton had also developed many Crystal reports and functional enhancements to V8 which needed to be migrated to the new environment to maintain the key functionality needed to support the business.
As Ruth Middleton, IT Manager, explains, “We knew JPO had completed projects of this type before, so were able to guide us throughout. During 2024, JPO redeveloped the enhancements, re-wrote the reports into v10 format, and fully supported our testing to ensure as smooth a migration as possible”.
Ruth continues, “To minimise disruption to day-to-day operations, the final uplift to v10 was scheduled over our Christmas break, so many thanks Jamie, Jonathan and Rob for working with our team over this period to achieve our successful switchover. We look forward to continuing to work with JPO to take full value from the V10 solution”.

Denroy benefits from Cobwebb’s Infor Document Management Capture solution augmented by JPO’s AP Voucher Workbench application.
JPO Solutions worked alongside Cobwebb Communications to successfully implement IDM Capture and AP Voucher processing automation to Denroy Group, based in Bangor, Northern Ireland

Solution Summary
Invoices are automatically picked up from an email inbox and loaded into IDM Capture. Using OCR technology, IDM Capture scans the invoice for key information and triggers an API lookup to SyteLine to validate the invoice and enrich the data.
The pre-built integration from IDM Capture to SyteLine means that invoices, once checked and validated, which are fully matched and approved are automatically posted directly within AP Voucher Workbench, and viewable in AP Posted Transactions. Exceptions are held in AP Voucher Workbench and presented for manual processing, with workflow/email to approvers as required. The Workbench also enables users to control voucher creation for both PO and Non PO invoices.
A copy of the invoice is also sent to IDM along with required metadata to enable quick retrieval. An added feature is the ability to access archived documents in context from within SyteLine utilising the in-context app/widget.
For further information on the solution and benefits realised by Denroy Group, please see the Cobwebb Communications Case Study or visit www.cobwebb.co.uk, and for more details on JPO’s AP Workbench Automation solution please email us at enquiries@jposolutions.com.

Immunodiagnostic Systems upgrades SyteLine to build secure base for growth and process development.
Leading specialist in endocrinology testing, IDS strengthens and enhances its SyteLine ERP with upgrade and Europe-wide multi-site consolidation, partnered and supported by JPO Solutions.

Immunodiagnostic System is a leading in vitro diagnostic solution provider to the clinical laboratory market. With its global headquarters in Bolden, England, it has been working with SyteLine since initial implementation of SyteLine v8 in 2012, across four manufacturing and distribution facilities in UK, France, Belgium and Germany.
The project was initially mandated by the underlying Microsoft Windows and SQL Server technology stack reaching end of life support. These needed to be uplifted to latest releases, in turn necessitating SyteLine to be upgraded from v8.03 to v10.
The v8.03 system consisted of separate databases for each of the four sites, as these had been implemented separately first time around. These would need to be consolidated into the single database environment of v10. This, as well as extensive personalisations across all sites, and with integrations to external systems, meant that experienced support would be imperative to successful completion.
Gareth Dixon, Group Finance Director explains, “All four sites would need to uplift simultaneously so detailed system testing in those personalised processes and reports, was seen as key to a successful go-live. Throughout our user testing JPO provided dedicated and experienced support to solve issues as they arose.”
Gareth continues, “We knew we would not find all issues prior to go-live, but the continued expertise of the JPO team after cutover ensured we had minimal business disruption, with all areas successfully operational from day one”.
A further challenge came with the change to the head of IT, just four months before the scheduled go-live, with Carl Gaffney joining as Group IT/IS Manager.
As Carl elaborates, “I came into the business in May having never worked on Syteline, having no experience with IDS’ processes, and needing to hit the September go-live target.
Although the learning curve was steep, JPO were instrumental in helping me understand the solution and make us self-sufficient. The success of the project is largely down to the support and guidance of JPO”.
Gareth concludes, “We are now in a strong position to expand our SyteLine solution into other geographies and automate many internal processes to greatly enhance our business operations. Thanks again JPO!”

Technicut tools up for growth with upgrade of SyteLine business system.
Sheffield based Technicut successfully completes the upgrade of their in-house SyteLine system from v8.03 to V10, ably assisted by JPO Solutions’ technical expertise.

Technicut is a global leader in solid rotary cutting tools for the aerospace industry and has grown into a leading global supplier of optimised steel, carbide and diamond tooling derivatives for all aerospace applications, supported by one of the largest complements of dedicated CNC machinery in Europe.
The company is a long-standing Syteline customer, initially utilising Progress-based SyteLine v6 in the early 2000’s before upgrading to SyteLine v8 in 2012.
A key business driver for this latest upgrade to v10 was the need to uplift the underlying on-site technology for SQL and Windows due to these reaching ‘end of life’ support. Technicut also wished to re-assess and re-implement SyteLine’s APS functionality so it made sense to review SyteLine’s most recent capabilities in this area.
A number of personalisations had also been introduced over time to meet specific functional requirements, however these hindered previous attempts to upgrade and standardise processes, with a number no longer consistent with current business operations and processes.
Working closely with JPO, a gap analysis of personalisations was undertaken, together with a number of trial database uplifts to v10, identifying those specific personalisations that needed to be retained, this enabling the business to test and validate the latest functionality. These trial uplifts also provided accurate timings and validation of uplift scripts thus giving confidence it would go smoothly at final cutover.
As Dan McConaghie, Production Systems Manager, explains “JPO were consistent in their guidance in making sure we tested the solution effectively, including the uplifted personalisations, before moving forward to cutover”
Dan concludes “Final cutover was achieved without incident over the Christmas break thus minimising any potential disruption to day-to-day operations and we fully appreciated the expertise and support of JPO throughout the project.”

Pailton Engineering strengthens and expands manufacturing and business systems
Coventry based Pailton Engineering successfully completes the upgrade of their in-house SyteLine system from v8.03 to V10, assisted by JPO Solutions technical expertise.

Pailton Engineering is a global leader in the design and manufacture of steering systems for Commercial and Military vehicles. The company first implemented SyteLine in 2012, having previously used Infor’s Swan Manufacturing solution, with the solution supporting the full enterprise including finance, commercial and planning/production operations.
A number of personalisations had been introduced over time to meet specific functional requirements, however these hindered previous attempts to upgrade and standardise processes.
Working closely with JPO, Pailton completed trial migrations to v10, including those specific personalisations that needed to be retained, enabling the business to test and validate the latest functionality.
As Steve Matthews, ERP Systems Manager, explains “These test runs enabled us to have confidence in the final migration which JPO successfully completed over a weekend in November, enabling the business to recommence operations on Monday morning.”
Steve concludes “The expertise and support provided by JPO were fundamental in enabling the Pailton team to introduce this latest SyteLine solution, which in turn will extend our capabilities in supporting development and growth across the business.”

UK’s leading supplier of natural source bottled water strengthens information systems with SyteLine upgrade.
Highland Spring Group secures its technical operations by upgrading to SyteLine v10 and replacing bespoke barcode solution with Factory Track, supported by JPO Solutions.

Highland Spring first implemented SyteLine in 2012, together with the Infor Bridgelogix barcode solution, running now across four main production operations and Head Office. At initial implementation and subsequently the solution has incorporated significant customisation and change from standard, especially within Bridgelogix. These customisations hampered the business from taking advantage of necessary security enhancements in technology that the underlying systems had available.
The core solution utilised aging operating system and database technology that was reaching end of support, potentially creating vulnerability to outside influence. However, in order to secure these systems with higher security versions, the ERP and barcode solutions also required upgrade to their corresponding latest releases in order to be on fully certified Infor solutions.
The project would therefore necessitate upgrading four separate SyteLine v8 databases to the current single database structure of V10, including the re-engineering of reports, personalisations and interfaces to internal 3rd party solutions, and replacing the bespoke Bridgelogix barcode functions with Infor Factory Track, including transactions customised to specifically meet the speed of bottling processes and warehousing requirements.
With JPO concentrating on the database uplift and Factory Track developments, Highland Spring IT could focus on SyteLine re-deployment and ensuring everything was fully tested by the business users.
Highland Spring Group operate 24x7 production, so the timing of the final cutover of the Production system also needed to be precisely planned, scheduled and executed over a weekend to ensure migration completion within a fixed downtime window, although still allowing some limited production to continue.
As Tracy Holbein, Highland Spring Group IT Manager, explains “The time and effort put in by both JPO and our internal team throughout the project ensured we had full confidence in the final solution. At go-live, JPO completed the cutover migration well inside plan enabling us to return systems back to the business over 24 hours ahead of target. This in turn allowed production to restart ahead of schedule, enabled shipping and invoicing on day one, and with minimum minor snags post go-live.”
Tracy concludes “We could not have achieved this without JPO’s expertise and team-player attitude. Great job JPO, much appreciated.”
